Growth · Link Building

Links you'd be happy to show Google.

There's a whole industry selling links from sites that exist only to sell links. They work briefly and then they don't, and cleaning up afterwards costs more than doing it properly. We earn placements from publications with actual readers.

Sound familiar

You're probably here for one of these.

Three patterns account for most of the link building work we take on. If one of them is yours, the audit will confirm it in a fortnight.

Our content is better but we still lose.

At similar relevance, authority breaks the tie. If the top ten all have hundreds of referring domains and you have twelve, content alone won't close it.

Authority gap
We bought links and rankings dropped.

Paid networks get deindexed in batches, and the sites linked from them lose whatever the links were holding up. We assess, disavow where warranted, and rebuild.

Cleanup and rebuild
Outreach gets no replies.

Generic pitches to journalists who don't cover your beat. Digital PR works when you bring them something genuinely newsworthy — usually data they can't get elsewhere.

Data-led pitching
How we run it

What actually happens, and when.

Sequenced deliberately — each phase depends on the one before it. Numbering here means order, not decoration.

PHASE 01

Assess

Week 1–2
  • Full backlink audit: which links help, which are inert, which are risk
  • Anchor text distribution checked for over-optimisation
  • Competitor link gap built — where do they get links you can also get
  • Disavow file prepared only where there's genuine manual-action risk
PHASE 02

Create the reason

Week 3–6
  • Linkable asset built: original data, a tool, or a genuinely useful resource
  • Angles developed per publication rather than one mass pitch
  • Journalist and editor list built by beat, not scraped by domain rating
  • HARO and journalist-request monitoring set up for fast, credible responses
PHASE 03

Earn and repeat

Ongoing
  • Personalised outreach with follow-up sequences that stop after two
  • Placements tracked with live status, anchor and destination
  • Internal linking updated so new authority reaches money pages
  • Monthly report showing referring domains gained and what they cost
What good looks like

The targets we work to.

Benchmarks, not promises. Your starting point decides how far and how fast — the audit gives you both numbers before you commit to anything.

Real traffic
The first filter

We check whether a linking site has organic traffic before we pitch it.

<20%
Exact-match anchors

Natural profiles skew heavily to brand and URL anchors.

Beat-matched
Every pitch

Sent to journalists who cover the topic, which is why replies happen.

Benchmarks reflect the standards we work to, not guaranteed outcomes.

Common questions

Link Building, answered straight.

How many links do we need?

The wrong question. What matters is closing the gap to the sites currently ranking for your targets, on quality as much as count. We'll show you that gap in the audit, in referring domains rather than raw link numbers.

Do you guarantee a certain number of links per month?

No, and be cautious of anyone who does — a guaranteed monthly quota almost always means paid placements from a network. We forecast a realistic range based on the asset and the beat, and report exactly what landed.

Is guest posting still safe?

Editorial guest posts on relevant publications with genuine editorial standards, yes. Mass-produced guest posts on sites that accept anything, no — Google has explicitly targeted that pattern. The distinction is whether a real editor would reject a weak submission.

What about links from our existing partners and customers?

Often the fastest wins available and almost always overlooked. Supplier pages, integration directories, customer case studies and industry associations are legitimate, relevant links you have a natural claim to. We map these first because they're free.
