Foundation · SEO Audits

An audit is worthless if nobody ships it.

You've probably had an audit before. It was ninety pages, it flagged 400 issues, and it's still in a Drive folder. Ours ends in a ranked list of what to do first, what it's worth, and who on your team does it.

Sound familiar

You're probably here for one of these.

Three patterns account for most of the SEO audits work we take on. If one of them is yours, the audit will confirm it in a fortnight.

We don't know why we're not ranking.

Three causes look identical from the outside: suppression, weak relevance, and thin authority. The audit separates them so you stop spending on the wrong one.

Root-cause split
Our last audit was a PDF nobody used.

Findings without ownership don't ship. Every item we hand over names an owner, an effort estimate and the expected upside.

Ranked and assigned
We need to justify SEO spend internally.

The audit doubles as the business case: what's broken, what it's costing in sessions, and what the recovery is worth at your conversion rate.

How we run it

What actually happens, and when.

Sequenced deliberately — each phase depends on the one before it. Numbering here means order, not decoration.

PHASE 01

Gather

Week 1
  • Full crawl plus Search Console, GA4 and Semrush exports
  • Top-ten competitor set agreed with you, not assumed
  • Historical traffic mapped against algorithm update dates
  • Business context: which pages actually make you money
PHASE 02

Analyse

Week 2
  • Technical, on-page, content and off-page findings assembled
  • Keyword gap against the agreed competitor set
  • Each finding sized: sessions at risk or sessions available
  • Fixes scored on impact ÷ effort, then ranked
PHASE 03

Hand over

Week 3
  • Live walkthrough with your marketing and dev leads
  • 90-day action plan with owners and sequence
  • Tickets pre-written for the top ten items
  • Follow-up check at day 45 to unblock anything stalled
What good looks like

The targets we work to.

Benchmarks, not promises. Your starting point decides how far and how fast — the audit gives you both numbers before you commit to anything.

3
Root causes, usually

Most underperforming sites have a handful of real problems, not four hundred.

90 days
Plan horizon

Sequenced so the highest-leverage fixes ship in the first fortnight.

Turnaround

From access granted to walkthrough call for a standard site.

Benchmarks reflect the standards we work to, not guaranteed outcomes.

Common questions

SEO Audits, answered straight.

What do you need from us to start?

Read access to Search Console and GA4, the site URL, and thirty minutes to tell us which pages matter commercially. That last part is what separates a useful audit from a generic one.

How is this different from a free automated audit?

Automated tools list issues. They can't tell you that your category pages are cannibalising each other, or that your traffic drop tracks a core update rather than a technical change. Run our free tool for the surface layer; the paid audit is for the judgement layer.

Will you implement the fixes too?

We can. Plenty of clients take the audit, implement in-house, and come back for a specific service. Others hand the whole list to us. The audit is deliberately useful on its own — it isn't a sales document.

How often should we re-audit?

Annually for a stable site, or after any migration, redesign, or unexplained traffic change. Between those, a monthly crawl diff catches regressions far more cheaply than a full re-audit.
